What is a Chakra?
chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel, or vortex, and it refers to each of the seven energy centers of which our consciousness;and our energy system is composed of within the human body. There are 12 chakras and 32 secondary chakras in the body. But we will only cover the major, 7 chakras, or energy centers, which function as pumps or valves, regulating the flow of energy through our energy system. The functioning of the chakras reflects our decisions we make concerning how we choose to respond to conditions in our life. Each Chakra is connected to specific glands and organs within the body. As with all things in our reality, the 7 chakras are linked to sound, light and color. A lack of color or energy in any of these energy points can create an imbalance, causing problems and illness. When an imbalance occurs chakra healing can be performed using either Meditation or Reiki.

Testing Your Chakras for Blockage or Health:
Starting out at your Root Chakra hold a pendulum over each chakras specific location. You will want to note the: direction, size and shape of pendulum movement. Too much movement can show that the chakra is too open; too little movement can show blockage or restriction of energy. Next apply one or all of your preferred Healing Modality (colors, essential oils, sound, stones,or meditation) then relax, for at least 15 minutes. After wards retest each area again with the pendulum. Be sure to make a note of any changes. Repeat as necessary to maintain the balance and health of your chakras.

Healing or Aligning any of the Major 7 Chakras:
Through meditation or Reiki the chakras can be balanced or aligned. Reiki can be done by yourself or by a Reiki Master. One or all of the following are and can be used to perform this healing of the chakras:
• Colors
• Sound
• Crystals
• Gem Stones
• Essential Oils

The healing will change the energy of your chakra. Once the healing has been completed you will want to wait roughly 15 minutes, to retest your chakra. Again use a pendulum the same way as mentioned above,to check if the chakra is functioning properly. Make sure to note any difference you notice. It is good to start a journal to keep track of your spiritual journey. As it is nice to be able to look back and see how you have evolved.

For a more detailed look into Chakras please refer to: New Chakra Healing by: Cindi Dale. She covers in depth all 12 chakras. She writes,” The twelfth chakra is actually a collection of thirty-two points on the body and in the aura. I see these in-body points as the Secondary Chakra System.” These are the 32 secondary chakras I mention in the above paragraph and through out this page.
